2016 Memorial Day Events Planned Across Dutchess County

DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- Memorial Day ceremonies are planned for numerous locations throughout the county. Many are planned before Monday, May 30, but the majority \ take place on Memorial Day.

Memorial Day events will take place across the region beginning on Wednesday, May 25 through Monday, May 30.

Following is a list of events provided by municipalities and community organizations:

  • Castle Point VA Hospital: Wednesday, May 25, 10 a.m.; Ceremony at Castle Point Campus, River Memorial Garden. 
  • Hyde Park: Friday, May 27, 7 p.m.USO Show at Henry A. Wallace Center. 
  • Hyde Park: Saturday, May 28, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. World War II Military Displays at the Henry A. Wallace Center. 
  • Milan: Sunday, May 29, noon. Parade & Ceremony at the Milan Town Hall, 20 Wilcox Circle. 
  • Pawling: Sunday, May 29, 11:30 a.m. Ceremony at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 22 Coulter Ave. 
  • Poughkeepsie: Sunday, May 29, 2 p.m. Ceremony at the Soldier & Sailor Fountain, South Avenue. 
  • Poughkeepsie: Sunday, May 29, 8 p.m. Ceremony – Illuminate the Walkway at the Flag Pole in the center of the Walkway Over the Hudson. 
  • Amenia: Monday, May 30 10:45 a.m. Parade and Ceremony at the Fountain Square - Intersections of Rt.22&44 near M&T Bank. 
  • Beacon: Monday, May 30 from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Sailor Service, Parade and Ceremony at the Fishkill Creek Bridge in Beacon. 
  • Beekman: Monday, May 30 10 a.m. Parade and Ceremony begins at 1189 Route 216 (formerly Clove Excavators), ceremony at Beekman Town Hall. 
  • Dover: Monday, May 30, 9 a.m. Parade and Ceremony at Dover Elementary School. 
  • East Fishkill: Monday, May 30, 10:30 a.m. Parade and Ceremony at the East Fishkill Community Center and East Fishkill Veterans’ Memorial, Rt 82 and Beekman Road. 
  • Fishkill: Monday, May 30, 1 p.m. Parade & Ceremony in the Village of Fishkill; Ceremony at Veterans Monument at Main Street and Broad Street. 
  • Hopewell Jct: Monday, May 30, 9 a.m. Mass at St. Denis Cemetery, 602 Beekman Road.
  • Hyde Park: Monday, May 30, 11 a.m. Ceremony at the War Memorial.
  • Hyde Park: Monday, May 30, 1 to 3 p.m. Art Exhibition at Artists’ Collective of Hyde Park, 4338 Albany Post Road. 
  • Hyde Park: Monday, May 30, 1:30 p.m. Ceremony at Rose Garden, FDR National Historic Site.
  • LaGrange: Monday, May 30, 11 a.m. Ceremony at LaGrange Town Hall.

  • Pine Plains: Monday May 30, 10:30 a.m. Parade begins at Firehouse on Route 82. 
  • Pleasant Valley: Monday, May 30, 11:30 a.m. Ceremony at Pleasant Valley War Memorial Park, Route 44. Guest Speaker: Senator Susan Serino. 
  • Poughkeepsie: Monday, May 30, 11a.m. Ceremony at Dutchess County War Memorial-corner of Raymond Ave. and Main Street. 
  • Red Hook: Monday, May 30, 10 a.m. Parade and Ceremony begins at Red Hook High School and ends at Memorial Square Park.
  • Rhinebeck: Monday, May 30, 10:30 a.m. Parade and Ceremony at Village Streets and Rhinebeck Cemetery
  • Stanford: Monday, May 30, 9 a.m. Parade and Ceremony at Stanford Grange Hall to Bangall Monument, Hunns Lake Road.
  • Tivoli: Monday, May 30, 10 a.m. Ceremony at North side of Red Church Cemetery RT 9G. 
  • Union Vale: Monday, May 30, 9 a.m. Parade & Ceremony at On-The-Green, Verbank (Town of Union Vale)
  • Wappinger: Monday, May 30, 2 p.m. Ceremony at Schlathaus Park, at the intersection of Myers Corners Road and All Angels Hill Road.
